Hurricane Ian partly to blame for coming 5 cent price hike

Get set for the price at the pump in Niagara to rise.

Hurricane Ian is to blame so is the declining dollar.

President for Canadians for Affordable Energy Dan McTeague predicts prices will increase to around 153.9 cents a litre as of midnight Thursday and could rise even higher.

Gas prices have been on the rise across Southern Ontario since late February, primarily due to fuel supply shortages amid Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and the international sanctions that have been imposed as a result of the war.
