The annual "Top Hat" ceremony will take place on Wednesday
Port Colborne will soon celebrate the opening of the Welland Canal.
On Wednesday, the Top Hat ceremony will take place at Lock 8 Gateway Park.
Mayor Bill Steele, along with representatives from the federal and provincial government, will be on hand for the festivities.
The event will kick off with a pancake breakfast at 8:00 a.m., which will be followed by the ceremony.
This will be the 65th navigation season of the Welland Canal.
