A new affordable housing project is on the horizon for the City of Port Colborne.
Council has voted in favour of selling Chestnut Park to Port Cares for $1 so it can be home to a new multi-unit, low rise affordable housing structure.
The playground equipment will be moved to Lockview Park.
Mayor Bill Steele says Port Colborne needs more affordable housing and the city is committed to finding creative solutions to this issue.
