Port Cares reporting 75 percent jump in demand for food bank services.

Port Cares says demand for its food bank services has nearly doubled since the start of the pandemic.

In March 2020, the charity's Reach Out Centre served just over 1,400 local residents from Port Colborne and Wainfleet.

The organization says it's now helping over 2,400 people.

This Saturday, the charity's annual Lions Food Drive is taking place.

You can put donations on your porch by 9 AM, and they'll be picked up by the local Lions Club.

Anyone interested in volunteering can contact Lion Laura Sachs at 289-407-0106 or Lion Jan Fuaco at 905-835-8157 to sign up to be a driver for the food pick-ups.
