Poppy Project expanding to include Gale Centre
The Niagara Falls History Museum kicks off its second annual Poppy Project today in honour of Remembrance Day
The Ferry Street museum will be decked out in thousands of bright red poppies.
It started last year when the museum reached out to the public and asked them to knit and crochet poppies to be included in an art installation.
Over 11,000 poppy donations came in from every province in Canada, 25 different U.S. states, as well as Denmark and New Zealand.
Along with the donations, many wrote heartfelt letters, dedicating words of love and thanks to family members who fought and died in the numerous wars that have affected our world.
This year the Poppy Project has also been expanded to include the Gale Centre.
