Original Story - March 27th, 6:44 AM
Niagara police are still on the hunt for a wanted 28-year-old local man.
They say on Thursday they were alerted that Juan Carlos Castro of Niagara Falls had cut off his court ordered ankle bracelet, while at the time facing a number of assault and weapon charges.
Police add they believe he was in the company of 27-year-old Danielle Nettos of Thorold.
Later that evening, they tried to stop a white Dodge Caravan on Highway 400, which police confirmed was driven by Nettos.
The driver took off, and police believe her three children, aged 3, 7 and 10, were in the van, along with Castro.
The next day, Saturday, police arrested Nettos at her home in Thorold, and charged her with taking a vehicle without permission.
She was released with a future court date, and the children are safe.
Police add Castro is still at large, with updated charges that include mischief under $5,000 and breach of probation.
He is black, 6', 190lbs, has brown eyes and wears glasses, is clean shaven with black hair, and has a tattoo on his left thumb of a crown.
