Threats phoned in to two schools this week
Niagara Regional Police continue to investigate threats made at schools in Fort Erie.
Around 10:30 a.m. this morning, officers were called to John Brant Public School after the school received a bomb threat by telephone.
A shelter in place procedure was issued, but it was lifted just after noon.
Investigators say there will be an increased police presence in the area.
The incident forced the closure of Ridge Road North, but the street has since been re-opened.
Earlier this week, a gun violence threat was called in to Garrison Road Public School.
Safety protocols were issued, and parts of the investigation led police to have concerns about Stevensville Public School and Peace Bridge Public School.
Police say there are similarities between the incidents and are trying to determine if the threats are linked.
No arrests have been made in either case.
