 
                            A man from St. Catharines is facing charges for uttering threats on YouTube.
Last month, the NRPS was contacted by INTERPOL in the United States regarding YouTube comments that were considered threatening.
The investigation conducted by INTERPOL indicated that the YouTube user may be from St. Catharines.
Detectives in St. Catharines were assigned to the case, with the assistance of the NRPS Cyber Crime Unit and the Technical Crimes Unit.
Officials determined that between January 10th and February 22nd, a user using the name "Big Lips" on YouTube posted threatening commentary on videos, and a suspect was identified.
A search warrant was conducted at a St. Catharines residence yesterday, and the suspect was arrested.
Forty-one year old Derek B. Spence of St. Catharines was arrested and charged with Uttering Threats.
Detectives are looking to speak with anyone who feels they may have been the subject of online threats made by Spence or his username "Big Lips."
