"Niagara River Recreation Trail" plaque stolen
Police are investigating after a memorial plaque was taken from a park in Niagara Falls.
Just after 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, officers were called to the Niagara Glen parking lot on Niagara River Parkway.
Investigators say at some point between April 14th and the 18th, a memorial plaque was taken from a rock.
The plaque described the "'Niagara River Recreation Trail' and is dated June 24, 1988.
Police believe it might have been stolen to sell as scrap metal.
Anyone with information is asked to call Niagara Regional Police.
