18 rescued from ice off coast of Catawba Island
A group of snowmobilers and ATV riders found out yesterday how dangerous the ice is on Lake Erie
Eighteen people were rescued after a sheet of ice broke away on the lake.
Seven people were rescued by helicopter, and another four were rescued by a Coast Guard boat.
Seven others were rescued by a good Samaritan who arrived at the scene with an airboat.
The US Coast Guard sending out a reminder that "Great Lakes ice is unpredictable, and conditions can change fast."
