Niagara Health continues to face significant strains.
As of this afternoon, there are 83 COVID-19 patients, and 22 of them are in intensive care.
The public is being urged to follow the advice of public health officials in order to prevent the spread of the virus.
Niagara Health also notes that the clinic at Seymour Hannah Sports and Entertainment Centre will be used for vaccinating local migrant workers, in order to reduce the spread within this sector.
A total of 3,050 workers from 152 farms will get jabbed this weekend.
As well, Niagara Health says the hours of operation at the COVID-19 assessment centres in Niagara Falls and Welland have been extended to 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.
The St. Catharines centre's drive-thru service continues operation Monday to Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
