The Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation has voted in favour of strike action, if need be.
The union represents high school teachers in Niagara and across the rest of the province.
It says 95 percent of teachers and occasional teachers are all for it, while 92 percent of educational workers also voted in favour.
The OSSTF is now in legal strike position, but it has to give five days notice before any job action.
