OPP busting more drivers with outdated stickers
Ontario Provincial Police is reminding you to renew your licence plate.
Sgt Kerry Schmidt says police are noticing an increase in the number of drivers with outdated stickers.
"You could be charged for driving with an unvalidated or unregistered vehicle, and we are seeing more and more of that happening across the province on a very regular basis."
On March 1st, 2022, the province stopped mailing out paper renewal notices for driver's licences, licence plate stickers and health cards, except for specific groups, including people over the age of 70.
While the province also scrapped licence plate renewal fees last year, you're still required to renew your licence plate.
Forgetting to renew your licence plate could result in a fine of $110.
You can renew your plate here.
