A reminder to driver's as summer vacation season enters its final two weeks
With the summer travel season winding down the OPP are out with a safety message.
Sgt. Kerry Schmidt encouraging drivers to think about what you're doing when on the province's highways and waterways.
"Distracted driving, aggressive driving, impaired driving people not wearing their seatbelts or safety equipment, every single one of those categories is up when you compare our fatal statistics from last year to this year" said Schmidt.
The OPP say bicycle fatalities have seen a 300% increase with 8 people killed, up from 2 last year.
In total, 259 people were killed this year in collisions on Ontario roads, waterways and trails.
