Ontario government providing $300,000 in humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
The province is providing some financial assistance to the people of Ukraine.
Premier Doug Ford has announced $300,000 is being donated to the Canada-Ukraine Foundation, to help provide humanitarian support, including medical aid, emergency shelter and food security in Ukraine.
The Foundation will ensure the money will be used to help people and families in need.
"Last night we witnessed a violent attack on a sovereign nation as Vladimir Putin launched a war of aggression against Ukraine," said Premier Doug Ford. "The bonds between Canada and Ukraine run deep, and generations of Ukrainian-Canadians have helped build the Canada we know and love. This morning I spoke with the Consul General of Ukraine and assured him that the people of Ontario stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Ukraine."
The province also says it will provide assistance to anyone fleeing from Ukraine in need of settlement services, which help newcomers and refugees find housing, employment, health services and more upon arrival in Ontario.
