Ontario Green Party Leader Expresses Concern About Mammals at Marineland

Green Party Leader says keeping whales and dolphins in captivity is cruel.

Ontario's Green Party Leader is speaking out following reports of mistreatment of mammals at Marineland in Niagara Falls.

Mike Schreiner released a statement today, saying it's wrong to keep dolphins and whales confined.

"Whales and dolphins are highly intelligent and social creatures that should not be living in such deplorable conditions."

His comments come after the Canadian Press reported an Animal Welfare Services inspection deemed mammals were in distress due to poor water quality.

Marineland denies the accusations.
