A man has died and a woman is in hospital after the pair were found on the side of a road in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
A man has died and a woman has been hospitalized after the pair were found on the side of the road in Niagara-on-the-Lake early this morning.
Niagara Regional Police Constable Phil Gavin tells us the pair were found just before 1 AM in the area of Wellington Street and Bryon Street.
The couple, who are both in their 70s, were found in medical distress at the side of the road.
The man was in critical condition, and was pronounced dead at the scene, despite resuscitative efforts by Niagara EMS.
The woman was taken to hospital, and is in stable condition.
Gavin says the couple were vacationing from Hamilton, and it's believed they went out for a walk.
No foul play is suspected, and there is no evidence to suggest they were hit by a car.
Nearby residents or businesses with closed circuit security cameras, dashcams or doorbell video cameras are asked to review their footage for any suspicious activities between August 11th at 11:00 p.m. and August 12th at 12:50 a.m.
