The GST, mandatory vaccines and child care front and centre
On the campaign trail, Conservative leader Erin O'Toole is calling for a GST holiday for retailers.
O' Toole says if elected he would give retailers a December holiday from having to charge the tax in order to help them recover from the pandemic.
Meanwhile, Liberal leader Justin Trudeau spent part of the day explaining why he called an election, noting it's about ensuring his party can he heard at a time of extraordinary consequences for the country.
Trudeau also criticized his Conservative opponent for promising to get rid of his government's $10 a day childcare plan.
And NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh spent the day promoting vaccinations saying people who don't get vaccinated should not be able to work in places where they will put others at risk.
