Niagara Falls man facing assault charges following altercation with police.
A man is facing assault charges after an incident near Lundy's Lane and Kalar Road.
Police say just after 8:30 last night, an officer stopped a suspected impaired driver.
The man began to video record, yell and swear at the officer, who urged the man to move back.
The suspect spat in the officer's face, and fled to the plaza on the southeast corner of the intersection after being informed he was under arrest.
He was handcuffed after more police arrived on the scene.
Investigators claim the man continued to resist after he was placed in the backseat of a cruiser, and kicked another officer in the chest.
No one was injured.
Forty-five year old William Bradley Prentice of Niagara Falls was arrested.
He's facing several charges, including Assaulting Police Officer, Obstruct Police Officer, Resist Arrest and Breach of Probation.
Prentice will attend a video bail hearing in St. Catharines later today.
