NRP Looking for Hit and Run Vehicle

Update: Police say pedestrian has died

Update: Friday afternoon

We have a sad update from police, in that the man who was hit has died at hospital.

Police have since learned that 82-year old Larry Pearce of St. Catharines arrived at the park at 9 yesterday morning, by himself, in his 2012 Silver Honda CRV.

He was preparing to leave at around 9:40, when he stopped to talk to some unknown suspect or suspects.

During this encounter, police say he got out of the vehicle, at which point the suspect or suspects got in and took control.

He tried to stop them by standing in front of the vehicle, but fell to the ground, and the vehicle was driven away, last seen getting onto the Niagara bound QEW at Seventh Street.

Original Story:

Police are looking for the driver of a vehicle involved in a hit and run with a pedestrian at Charles Daley park in Lincoln.

Police arrived on scene yesterday morning before 10, to learn after the vehicle hit the pedestrian, it left the area, last seen driving east on North Service Road.

Police say the pedestrian is in an out of region hospital in critical condition.

That person's vehicle, a 2012 Silver Honda CRV, with Ontario licence plate of 24F S30, has not been found.

Police are asking for anyone with video footage recorded between 9:35 and 9:45 to call them.
