It has been a busy couple of weeks for Welland Fire and Emergency Services.
It has responded to 15 suspicious fires since June 17th and they're all within a few kilometres of the downtown core.
Deputy Chief Adam Eckhart says they could have been catastrophic for businesses and residents in the area.
The NRP arrested a 33-year-old man yesterday and charged him with two counts of arson and one count of breach if probation.
The investigation continues so anyone with information should contact police.
