One is charged with assault with a weapon, both are from St. Catharines
Two men from St. Catharines have been charged with a slew of weapon offences after a gun investigation by police this month.
NRP used a search warrant at a house in the Ontario Street and Welland Avenue area on Thursday.
Police say they found two guns and some ammunition.
43-year old Michael Mills is charged with:
- Assault with a weapon
- Use of Firearm during Commission of an Offence
- Careless Storage of Firearm, Weapon, or Ammunition
- Carrying Concealed Weapon
- Possess Firearm without Holding a Licence
- Possess Restricted or Prohibited Firearm Knowingly not holding a Licence
- Unauthorized Possession of Firearm in Motor Vehicle
- Possess Loaded Regulated Firearm
- Possession of a Firearm knowing Serial Number has been Tampered with
- Possess of Firearm Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
Police have also charged 36-year old William Austin with:
- Careless Storage of a Firearm
- Possess Restricted or Prohibited Firearm without holding a Licence
- Possess Restricted or Prohibited Firearm knowingly not holding a Licence
- Possession of a Firearm knowing serial number has been Tampered with
- Possess Unloaded Regulated Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Possess Prohibited/Restricted Weapon or Prohibited Device Knowingly not holding a Licence
Both men had bail hearings in St. Catharines.
