Money will be used towards enhancements at Cave Springs Conservation Area, St. Johns Conservation Area, Louth Conservation Area and Rockway Conservation Area.
The Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority is getting some money from the federal government.
The NPCA is getting $750,000 from the Federal Economic Development Agency.
The money will be used towards improving greenspace infrastructure and increase safe access to four sites.
Improvements will be made at Cave Springs Conservation Area, St. Johns Conservation Area, Louth Conservation Area and Rockway Conservation Area.
The projects being funded are as follows:
Cave Springs Conservation Area will improve parking, entrances, and accessibility. The accessible trail will feature a granular surface to accommodate mobility devices and service animals.
St. Johns Conservation Area will repair the current parking area, and make improvements to the existing drainage and the trail to increase accessibility for those with service animals or mobility devices. This project will also include repairing stairs, replacing boardwalks, and increasing signage.
Louth Conservation Area will improve sanctioned trails by replacing boardwalks and increasing signage for trails.
Rockway Conservation Area will replace boardwalks and adding signage for all conservation area trails.
