The NPCA says the milder weather and spring rainfall can cause elevated water levels in rivers and creeks, posing a risk for children and pets.
The authority is asking parents to have a talk with their children about the dangers of playing near shorelines in the early spring particularly with lingering ice and muddy banks that can make for treacherous footing.
