Town council becomes 6th to say yes to plan
Niagara on the Lake town council has become the latest to throw their support behind a region wide transit service.
The town becomes the region’s sixth municipality to approve a plan that will see the region take over all public transit services in Niagara and merge them into a singular service.
Welland is the only municipality in the region so far that has yet to vote on the plan, instead asking for a deferral until some outstanding issues are resolved.
All 12 cities and towns in the region have until January 31st to vote on the proposal.
