Nick Ruller also serves as Regional Fire Coordinator for the Niagara Region
The town of Niagara on the Lake is bidding a fond farewell to its fire chief.
In a release, town officials say "It is with sadness yet acclamation the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake announces the resignation of Fire Chief Nick Ruller."
Ruller who began working in the town as a volunteer firefighter in 1998 and became Chief in 2019, has accepted the position of Platoon Chief at the City of Brampton.
Officials add a recruitment process will begin shortly, and more information will be released regarding the appointment of an Acting Chief of Fire & Emergency Services until the position is filled.
