The holiday season just won't be the same in West Lincoln.
Ward 3 Councillor William Reilly says the Santa Claus Parade has been cancelled this year due to pandemic and the possibility of second wave.
"Everyone is concerned about what this uptick (in cases) might look like and if it happens are we just going to be doing all of this for nothing and at what point does it create a cost or a loss for the committee itself."
Reilly says the current health regulations in place already make it impossible to host parade.
But he adds a backup plan is in the works.
"The committee is going to be announcing in the next two-to-three weeks or so, sometime in September, what that alternative plan is going to look like. We're going to be able to still celebrate holiday cheer but it's just going to be slightly different from what we've been doing traditionally in terms of the parade."
He says the organizing committee will soon have its own Facebook page and that's where its going to post all the details.
