The SIU has found no reason to charge an NRP officer, after an arrest in Welland.
The officer responded a domestic assault report at a home on Niagara Street back in February.
Reports say there was a confrontation between the officer and a 64-year-old man, so the officer threw him to the ground and waited for backup.
The man allegedly tried to bite him, so the officer delivered two elbow strikes to the head.
The man was taken to hospital afterwards, where he was diagnosed with multiple fractures and a collapsed lung.
