The Special Investigations Unit says there are no reasonable grounds for charges against Niagara police officer.
No charges are being laid against a Niagara Regional Police Service officer who fired a weapon at a man during an arrest in April.
The SIU says on April 16th, police responded to a dispute between neighbours in the Falls.
Investigators say a man had slashed his neighbour's tires and threatened to kill him, and there were concerns the man had weapons in his apartment.
Police forced his door open, and the man resisted arrest and became violent.
An officer fire his Anti-Riot Weapon Enfield (ARWEN), and the man, who wasn't seriously injured, was arrested.
SIU Director Joseph Martino says the officers used reasonable force during the encounter.
