The Canadian economy lost over one-million jobs in March.
Statistics Canada says the national unemployment rate jumped to 7.8 percent, which is the largest single-month increase in more than 40-years.
It was sitting at 5.6 percent in February
Niagara’s jobless rate is also 7.8 percent, which is a significant increase compared to the 5.5 percent reported the month before.
Ontario’s rate jumped from 5.5 percent to 7.6 percent.
