Watch to remain in effect this afternoon and into this evening
The Niagara Region is under a severe thunderstorm watch.
It means conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.
Environment Canada says the watch will be in place late this afternoon and into this evening.
Wind gusts of up to 90 km/hr are possible with heavy downpours and nickel size hail.
