Region's COVID-19 death toll now at 436.
Another local person has died of COVID-19.
Niagara Region Public Health is confirming the death, as well as 28 new cases today.
This puts the area's death toll at 436.
There are 13 Niagara Health patients with the virus, and six are in the ICU.
Ten of the patients are unvaccinated.
Throughout the region, there are 138 active cases and five active outbreaks.
More than 723,000 vaccinations have been administered.
To date, about 76.7 percent of local residents have their first shot, and 73.1 percent are double dosed.
