The Niagara Region has announced some holiday-related changes to garbage collection in the area.
Since Christmas and New Year's Day both fall on a Friday, properties with Friday collection will be delayed one day on those weeks.
All other collection days will remain the same.
Households will be allowed to place out two extra bags or cans of garbage without a garbage tag in the weeks following Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
- Dec. 28 - Jan. 2: Fort Erie, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Pelham, St. Catharines, Thorold, Wainfleet and West Lincoln
- Jan. 4 - 8: Grimsby, Lincoln, Niagara Falls, Port Colborne and Welland
Christmas trees will be collected from January 11th - 15th.
All materials must be placed at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on your scheduled collection day.
