New Youth Advisory Panel will provide advice on services that impact Niagara's youth.
The Niagara Region is accepting applications for the new Chair's Youth Advisory Panel.
The panel will be made up of teens aged 13 to 19 from all 12 municipalities, and will meet at least six times a year.
Panel members will advise on policies, programs and services that affect local youth.
Potential focus areas include public transportation, mental health, homelessness and the environment.
Applications will be accepted from teens who have leadership experience, a diverse background and an understanding of the importance of local government.
Applicants are advised to share examples of times they had to cooperate in a large group to make a final decision.
Each panel member will serve a term of one year, with an optional extension for a second year.
In addition to the 12 voting members, a Regional Council member will take part in the panel to provide guidance.
Applications will be accepted until October 18th, and submissions can be made here.
