Niagara's Acting Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Mustafa Hirji, warns that the region may soon move to red.
This warning comes after the region experienced 136 new cases over the weekend.
Hirji says that even before this weekend's numbers came to light, the area was at risk of becoming a red zone.
If Niagara does enter the red zone, it would mean a limit of 10-person indoor gatherings, 25-person outdoor gatherings.
There would also be tougher restrictions on facilities such as restaurants, stores and gym.
Hirji is urging you to only socialize with people you live with, practice proper COVID-19 safety protocols and stay home if you feel sick.
