A major boost for PC leader Doug Ford while in Niagara Falls today, along with an economic announcement.
Doug Ford received the endorsements of the mayors of Niagara Falls, St. Catharines and Welland.
He then said a re-elected PC government would invest another $22-billion to keep people working in the face of Trump tariffs. "Here in Niagara, that includes widening the QEW between Burlington and St. Catharines, to keep thousands of local construction workers and skilled trades people working."
Niagara Falls Mayor Jim Diodati, Welland Mayor Frank Campion, and St. Catharines Mayor Mat Siscoe gave long lists of why they endorse him.
Mat Siscoe said Premier Ford has consistently delivered on many fronts. "In St. Catharines alone, almost 9,000 jobs are dependent on exports to the US. The possibility of a trade war jeopardizes that partnership, and the premier on this file has led the charge not just for St. Catharines, not just for Niagara and Ontario, but for the country of Canada."
Doug Ford then hammered home the fight against Trump tariffs tomorrow is paramount.
