Red dresses are being hung throughout Niagara to remember murdered and missing Indigenous women and girls
Today is Red Dress Day, a day to remember missing and murdered indigenous women, girls and two spirit people.
Here in Niagara, the Town of Pelham is marking the day by bringing town flags to half mast.
In St. Catharines, a walk through the downtown area will start at City Hall at 5:30 p.m.
Throughout the country, red dresses will be on display, including outside Niagara Region headquarters.
Meanwhile, the head of the Native Women's Association of Canada says there is still a crisis nearly four years after the final report into missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls was released.
Carol McBride says despite the increased awareness, there have not been substantial changes.
