Niagara Kids Heading Back to Class Tomorrow

The DSBN and Niagara Catholic say schools will re-open following news that CUPE's strike will end.

Kids in Niagara will be back in class tomorrow.

Both the DSBN and Niagara Catholic say schools will be back in session tomorrow following the news that CUPE and the province will head back to the bargaining table.

The DSBN has posted the following message on its website:

"Today, the provincial government and CUPE have announced they will be returning to the negotiating table. This news means that all DSBN schools will OPEN to in-person learning for Tuesday, November 8. Schools will continue to stay open to in-person learning while negotiations are ongoing between CUPE and the province.

We know this has been a difficult time, and we thank you for working through this situation with us. If families and students have any questions, please reach out to your school principal."

Meanwhile, Niagara Catholic has released the following message:

"Good afternoon to all Niagara Catholic families,

As a result of the government’s decision to repeal its back-to-work legislation, CUPE has rescinded its withdrawal of services.

We are pleased to advise you that all Niagara Catholic schools will be open to students on Tuesday, November 8.

Families that received technology from their child’s school earlier today are expected to return it to the school tomorrow when their child returns to school.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back to school and work tomorrow."
