A quality care review is being launched following the death of a Niagara Health patient.
Niagara Health is conducting an internal quality care review after the death of a patient last Friday.
In a statement, Niagara Health President Lynn Guerriero says she was "deeply troubled" after family members and local community Indigenous leaders raised concerns about the patient's death.
Guerriero says an internal quality care review is underway in order to understand the person's experience, and the family will be involved in the process.
She says she will speak with the family and Indigenous leaders and will recommend an external third party review.
