PETA criticizing Niagara Falls Tourism for holding nightly fireworks between May and October
Niagara Falls Tourism has been named as PETA's "Grinch of the Year."
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals says the group is getting the title for running nightly fireworks between May and October.
Earlier this year, nearly 60,000 PETA members encouraged the organization to cancel the show or replace it with a drone show.
PETA says when fireworks go off, it scares animals and could even make them run away from home to escape the noise.
Fireworks shows are on the schedule for every weekend until February 20, and nightly from Boxing Day until January 7th.
