Officials warn decorations can easily cause fires.
A word of caution from the Niagara Falls Fire Department.
Residents are being reminded to keep fire safety in mind when decorating for Christmas.
The department says decorations can burn easily, and they need to be kept at least three feet away from heat sources like fireplaces, space heaters or woodstoves.
You're also advised against hanging cards or other decorations or or near the fireplace, and keeping extra ashtrays on hand if people are smoking.
