Police seize handgun during arrest
Two people are facing charges following a crash in Niagara Falls.
Around 3:48 a.m. on January 1st, police were called to the scene of a collision on Main Street near Ferry Street.
A witness told police that the passenger in the front seat fled the area on foot, allowing the driver to move to the passenger seat.
Police say a handgun was found in the car during the arrest.
27 year old Brandon Bird of Niagara Falls faces impaired driving and weapon possession charges.
The passenger, 21 year old Benjamin Gregory Raspal of Niagara Falls, also faces numerous weapon charges.
The pair attended a bail hearing and have been remanded into custody.
Nobody was injured due to the crash.
