They would like to open three outdoor swimming pools for Canada Day.
Niagara Falls City Council will look over a report from staff during a virtual meeting this Tuesday.
It recommends opening the EE Mitchelson, FH Leslie and Prince Charles pools on July 1st, but only if the province’s emergency orders are no longer in effect.
Niagara Region Public Health would also have to sign off on it.
The pools would not provide any swimming lessons or programming due to health and safety concerns.
If the emergency order is not lifted by August 1st, staff are recommending that the five outdoor pools remain closed.
They would also like to open the city’s seven splash pads for June 15th, but they will have to receive approval from the province and the Region first.
