The suit names Dino Miele, his wife and several others including Dave Robitaille, the co-founder of Spark Niagara.
The suit accuses Miele of redirecting over $2 million dollars in school funds to businesses that financially benefited him.
According to the citizens group, Miele has a 25 percent stake in Spark Niagara which also lists the city of Niagara Falls as its majority shareholder.
Spark received almost three million in federal development money in 2019 , to establish the Niagara Falls Ryerson Innovation Hub.
W.a.t.C.H notes the City of Niagara Falls has provided almost $80,000 per month, from its casino reserve fund to support the incubator.
The group says citizens and some councillors have asked whether those payments should be suspended until more is known about the DSBN lawsuit and Miele’s role in Spark.
