The QEW has re-opened following this morning's deadly crash at Nikola Tesla Blvd in Hamilton.
The OPP has confirmed a 46 year old man from Toronto was killed, but his identity has not been released.
The man lost his life when his car was hit by an overhead road sign that was knocked over by an excavator in a construction zone.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Police tweeting out an excavator in a construction zone struck an overhead road sign causing it to collapse and fall onto the roadway striking a passing vehicle.
Originally police said a 46 year driver from Niagara Falls was killed.
OPP now say the victim was from Toronto
No other details are available.
Traffic was rerouted for hours after the crash causing delays for commuters who were forced off the highway at Nicola Tesla.
