The NHL is struggling to maintain a COVID free bubble.
In a statement yesterday the league says "our priority has been and will continue to be to act conservatively with an abundance of caution, understanding that there are many things about the transmission of COVID-19 that are still being discovered. As a result, we won’t hesitate to take additional measures as indicated by what we are learning and as directed by our medical advisers."
Among those additional measures the NHL has ordered all arenas to remove the glass partition behind the home and visiting benches in an effort to improve air flow between the players and coaches.
Other measures include having players arrive no more than an hour and 45 minutes before puck drop, all meetings when possible must be virtual and players are asked to leave arenas as quickly as they can after games and practices
This comes the day we learned Buffalo Sabres Coach Ralph Krueger has become the latest member of the team to test positive.
To date there are now five players on the league's COVID protocol list.
Outbreaks have now sidelined the Sabres, Devils, Wild and Golden Knights.
