Survey shows 63 percent of New Yorkers against providing $600 in tax dollars towards new Bills stadium.
A new poll suggests most New Yorkers are not in favour of the state using tax dollars to pay for a new stadium for the Buffalo Bills.
The poll, which was conducted by Siena College, suggests 63 percent of New Yorkers disapprove, while 24 percent are in favour.
In March, the Bills, Erie County and New York State agreed taxpayer dollars would cover $600 million towards the cost of a new stadium for the team.
The cost of the stadium has been projected at $1.4 billion, with $250 million coming from Erie County, and $550 million coming from the NFL and the Bills.
Supporters say the agreement was necessary in order to keep the Bills in Buffalo.
