New data only reports schools with absences over 30 percent
NDP Education critic Marit Stiles says the data released yesterday by the province is laughably vague and leaves parents with more questions than answers.
Yesterday the government released data that shows 337 schools reported absence rates higher than 30 percent and 111 schools had rates higher than 50 percent.
The new data replaces the reporting of individual cases of the virus in schools.
Stiles adding "The goal must be to keep every school open until June. To do that, the Ford government needs to reinstate testing, tracing, and actual COVID-19 case reporting, so that parents are alerted whenever there’s an infection in their child’s classroom."
