People who got AstraZeneca as the first vaccination are being advised to get an mRNA vaccine for their second shot.
That's the advice from the National Advisory Committee on Immunization.
The agency is recommending the provinces stop administering the vaccine in most cases, even as a booster shot for those who received AstraZeneca for their first vaccination.
The advice takes into account the rare risk of blood clots and the increased supply of mRNA vaccines slated to arrive in Canada in the coming weeks.
About 14 million more doses are expected to arrive later this month.
