A man is in critical but stable condition after a fire in Welland.
Around 6:50 this morning, emergency crews responded to a blaze at a multi-unit residence near Denistoun and Lincoln Street.
Investigators determined that the fire was in one of the units.
A 55 year old man was rescued by the Welland Fire Department and taken to an out of region hospital.
Due to heavy smoke, several residents were displaced.
A bus was provided by Welland Transit to serve as temporary shelter from the weather.
The cause of the flames is being investigated by the Ontario Fire Marshall's office and NRP detectives.
